Time & Yield
- Prep Time: 15 minutes
- Bake Time: 35–45 minutes
- Total Time: About 1 hour
- Yield: 2 standard loaf pans
Ingredients
Bread Batter
- 1 can (21 oz / 595 g) apple pie filling, mashed
- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 4 large eggs, slightly beaten
- 1 cup self-rising flour
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1 medium apple, peeled and chopped
Topping (Optional but Recommended)
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
1 Preheat & Prepare
Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
Grease two loaf pans well with butter or nonstick spray. You may also line them with parchment paper for easy removal.
2 Mix the Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together:
- Yellow cake mix
- Self-rising flour
- Ground cinnamon
Make sure everything is well combined and free of lumps.
3 Add the Wet Ingredients
Add the mashed apple pie filling and the slightly beaten eggs to the dry mixture. Stir gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
4 Fold in Fresh Apples
Using a spatula, gently fold in the chopped fresh apple pieces. This adds texture and extra apple flavor to the bread.
5 Fill the Pans
Divide the batter evenly between the two prepared loaf pans. Smooth the tops with a spatula.
In a small bowl, mix the sugar and cinnamon for the topping, then sprinkle evenly over the batter.
6 Bake
Place the loaf pans in the preheated oven and bake for 35–45 minutes, or until:
- A toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean
- The tops are golden brown
- The bread feels set in the middle
If the tops brown too quickly, loosely cover with foil during the last 10 minutes.
7 Cool & Serve
Remove from the oven and let the bread cool in the pans for 10–15 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
Tips for Best Results
