 Time

  • Cook time: 25 minutes
  • Total time: 40 minutes

 Ingredients (Serves 4)

Steak

  • 14–18 oz (400–500 g) steak (sirloin or ribeye)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Pasta

  • 10 oz (300 g) shell pasta
  • Salted water for boiling

Creamy Paprika Sauce

  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp paprika (smoked or sweet)
  • ¾ cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan (or any melting cheese)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Chili flakes (optional)

Garnish (optional)

  • Fresh parsley, chopped
  • Extra Parmesan

 Instructions

1 Cook the Pasta

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the shell pasta until al dente, according to package instructions. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.

2 Cook the Steak

Slice the steak into thin strips. Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over high heat. Sear the steak for 2–3 minutes per side until browned but still tender. Remove from the pan and set aside.

3 Make the Creamy Paprika Sauce

In the same skillet, melt the butter. Add the chopped onion and cook until soft and translucent.

Add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant. Stir in the paprika and let it bloom briefly.

Pour in the cream and milk, reduce heat to medium-low, and simmer until the sauce slightly thickens. Stir in the Parmesan until melted and smooth. Season with salt, pepper, and chili flakes if using.

4 Combine Everything

Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and toss to coat. If the sauce is too thick, add a little reserved pasta water.

Return the steak to the pan and gently mix. Cook for 2–3 minutes until everything is warmed through and well combined.

 Tips for Best Results

  • Smoked paprika adds a deep, restaurant-style flavor
  • Do not overcook the steak to keep it tender
  • Pasta water helps loosen the sauce without losing creaminess
  • Use freshly grated Parmesan for the best texture

 Serving Suggestions
