  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon paprika or chili flakes (optional)
  • 1 cup uncooked long-grain rice
  • 2 cups beef broth or water
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley or green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

1. Season and Sear the Steak

Season the steak strips with salt and pepper.

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add the steak and sear for 2–3 minutes per side until browned but still tender.
Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.

2. Make the Honey Garlic Butter Sauce

In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add butter.
Once melted, stir in the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.

Add the honey, soy sauce, and paprika or chili flakes (if using).
Stir well and let the sauce simmer for 1–2 minutes.

3. Cook the Rice

Add the uncooked rice to the skillet and stir to coat it in the sauce.

Pour in the beef broth or water and bring to a gentle simmer.
Cover, reduce heat to low, and cook for 15–18 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed.

4. Combine and Finish

Return the cooked steak to the skillet and gently stir it into the rice.
Cook for an additional 2–3 minutes to warm everything through and coat the steak in the sauce.

5. Serve

Remove from heat and garnish with chopped parsley or green onions.
Serve hot and enjoy this sweet, buttery steak and rice skillet.
