Banana Bread Brownies

Ingredients

  • ½ cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Optional but excellent:
    • ½ cup chocolate chips or chopped walnuts
    • ½ tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×13 pan.
  2. Mix melted butter and sugar until smooth.
  3. Add eggs, mashed bananas, and vanilla; mix well.
  4. Stir in flour, baking powder, salt (and cinnamon if using).
  5. Fold in chocolate chips or nuts if desired.
  6. Spread batter evenly in pan.
  7. Bake 25–30 minutes, until a toothpick comes out mostly clean (moist crumbs = perfect).
  8. Cool before cutting—if you can wait.

Optional Brownie-Style Glaze (Highly Recommended)

  • ¼ cup butter
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • Splash of vanilla

Melt butter, stir in cocoa and milk, remove from heat, whisk in powdered sugar and vanilla. Spread over warm brownies.
