Banana Bread Brownies
Ingredients
- ½ cup butter, melted
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Optional but excellent:
- ½ cup chocolate chips or chopped walnuts
- ½ tsp cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×13 pan.
- Mix melted butter and sugar until smooth.
- Add eggs, mashed bananas, and vanilla; mix well.
- Stir in flour, baking powder, salt (and cinnamon if using).
- Fold in chocolate chips or nuts if desired.
- Spread batter evenly in pan.
- Bake 25–30 minutes, until a toothpick comes out mostly clean (moist crumbs = perfect).
- Cool before cutting—if you can wait.
Optional Brownie-Style Glaze (Highly Recommended)
- ¼ cup butter
- 2 tbsp milk
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- Splash of vanilla
Melt butter, stir in cocoa and milk, remove from heat, whisk in powdered sugar and vanilla. Spread over warm brownies.
