Ingredients
- 6–8 slices bacon, chopped
- 1 pound (450 g) ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely diced
- 3–4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon yellow mustard (optional, but very recommended)
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- Salt, to taste
- 2 cups cooked rice (white or brown)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese (optional)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the bacon
Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped bacon and cook until crispy, stirring occasionally. Remove the bacon and place it on a paper towel to drain. Leave about 1–2 tablespoons of bacon grease in the skillet for extra flavor. - Brown the ground beef
Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until fully browned, breaking it apart with a spoon. Drain excess grease if needed. - Add aromatics
Stir in the diced onion and cook for 2–3 minutes until softened. Add the minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant. - Build the flavor
Add the Worcestershire sauce, tomato paste, mustard, paprika, black pepper, and salt. Stir well until everything is evenly combined and the beef is coated in a rich, savory sauce. - Add the rice
Stir in the cooked rice and mix until the rice absorbs all the flavors and is evenly distributed throughout the skillet. - Combine and melt
Add the cooked bacon back into the skillet. Sprinkle the cheddar and mozzarella cheeses evenly over the top. Cover the skillet with a lid and let it cook for 2–3 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted. - Garnish and serve
Remove from heat, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve immediately.
