Cheeseburger Wraps Recipe (Step-by-Step Guide)

These Cheeseburger Wraps are everything you love about a classic cheeseburger—juicy beef, melted cheese, fresh veggies, and creamy sauce—wrapped in a soft tortilla. Perfect for a quick lunch, dinner, or even meal prep.

Ingredients (Makes 4 wraps)

For the Beef Filling

  • 1 lb (450–500 g) ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce (optional but recommended)
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

For the Special Burger Sauce

  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar or lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon sugar or honey (optional, for balance)

For Assembling the Wraps

  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 4–6 slices cheddar cheese (or mozzarella)
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 large tomato, sliced
  • Pickles, sliced (optional but very burger-style)

Optional Side (Oven Fries)

  • 3 large potatoes, cut into fries
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt, pepper, paprika
  • Instructions

1. Prepare the Fries (Optional)

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Toss the potato fries with olive oil, salt, pepper, and paprika.
  3. Spread them on a baking tray in a single layer.
  4. Bake for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.

2. Cook the Beef Filling

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and cook for 2–3 minutes until soft and translucent.
  3. Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add the ground beef and break it apart with a spatula.
  5. Cook until browned and no longer pink.
  6. Stir in mustard, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  7. Let it cook for another 5–8 minutes, allowing flavors to combine.
  8. Remove from heat and set aside.

Tip: Don’t overcook the beef—juicy meat makes better wraps.

3. Make the Burger Sauce

In a small bowl, mix:

  • Mayonnaise
  • Ketchup
  • Mustard
  • Vinegar or lemon juice
  • Sugar (if using)

Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.

4. Assemble the Cheeseburger Wraps

  1. Lay a tortilla flat on a clean surface.
  2. Spread a generous spoon of burger sauce in the center.
  3. Add shredded lettuce and tomato slices.
  4. Spoon warm beef mixture on top.
  5. Place cheese slices over the beef (the heat will melt it).
  6. Add pickles if desired.
  7. Fold in the sides, then roll tightly into a wrap.

5. Optional: Toast the Wraps

  • Heat a dry skillet over medium heat.
  • Place wraps seam-side down.
  • Toast for 1–2 minutes per side until golden and slightly crispy.

Serving Suggestions

  • Serve hot with crispy fries on the side.
  • Add extra burger sauce or ketchup for dipping.
  • Slice wraps in half for a cleaner presentation.

Pro Tips

Use cheddar cheese for a true cheeseburger flavor
Toasting the wraps adds crunch and prevents sogginess
You can add bacon bits or caramelized onions for extra flavor
For a healthier version, use whole wheat tortillas and lean beef

Variations

  • Spicy Cheeseburger Wraps: Add hot sauce or jalapeños
  • BBQ Version: Replace ketchup with BBQ sauce
  • Low-Carb: Use lettuce wraps instead of tortillas
  • Vegetarian: Replace beef with plant-based ground meat
