 Ingredients

Pasta & Beef:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 12 oz pasta (penne, rotini, or shells)
  • 1 small onion, diced

  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup heavy cream (or milk for lighter version)
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Cheese & Topping:

  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (optional, for extra melt)
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley or green onions (optional)

 How to Make Cheddar Ranch Ground Beef Pasta Bake

Step 1: Cook the Pasta

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente.
Drain and set aside.

Step 2: Cook the Ground Beef

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef with diced onion until browned and fully cooked, about 7–9 minutes.
Drain excess grease.

Add garlic, salt, and black pepper. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

Step 3: Make the Ranch Sauce

Reduce heat to low.
Add butter, sour cream, heavy cream, and ranch seasoning to the skillet.
Stir until smooth and creamy.

Step 4: Combine Everything

Add the cooked pasta to the beef and sauce mixture.
Stir until the pasta is fully coated.

Fold in 1 1/2 cups of cheddar cheese and the mozzarella cheese (if using).

Step 5: Assemble the Casserole

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
